If you have a cello please bring it.
If you do not yet have a cello and would still like to have a lesson I have a full size cello you can try out. However, this cello will be too big for most children and people 5 feet and under.

nISHA cALKINS
My musical background is diverse and grounded in classical training. I began my life long love of the cello in 1992 at the age of 10. Since then I have performed and recorded with a variety of musical artists, poets, story tellers, and dancers.
From 2001-2002 I studied the cello in Germany with Katrina Sallow and went on to university continuing to grow and develop as a cellist and professional musician.
in 2006 I became a founding member of Kef, a prominent East European/Balkan Music Dance Band that Has toured in the Northwest for over a decade and released our premier album in 2009.
In 2008 I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Oregon after studying with cello professor Steven Pologe.
I first began teaching cello in 2011 and have since continued to discover and expand my love of sharing and teaching the cello to people of many ages and levels, experiencing the joy and fulfillment when my students develop confidence and their self expression with the cello.
I am passionate about people being free to express, enjoy, and share themselves on the cello while playing with ease and developing a beautiful tone and life long love of playing the cello.
